Virta publishes its first ever sustainability report, as an important step on the company’s sustainability journey.

The report further improves transparency into the sustainability of Virta’s business and considers environmental, social, and governance aspects.

“This is a big step for Virta on our path as a forerunner in not only e-mobility, but also in sustainability. The report gives us a whole new level of insight into all aspects of sustainability, and we are happy to share it with everyone. We are proud of our achievements in 2022 and have already continued the important work in 2023,” says Antonia Åkerberg, Sustainability Manager at Virta.

2022 was an important year for sustainability at Virta, with several milestones reached. The company’s first sustainability policy was published, big strides were taken in how the company works with environmental, social, and governance aspects of sustainability, and the company’s footprint (scope 1-3) and handprint (“scope 4”) were calculated for the first time. By taking significant steps towards sustainability, Virta has increased its EcoVadis score by 11 points from the 2021 assessment to 66 points. The 2022 EcoVadis rating placed Virta in the 91st percentile of all companies assessed by EcoVadis and earned the company a silver medal.

The sustainability data presented in the report covers annual data from 1.1.2022 to 31.12.2022. The sustainability report applies to Liikennevirta Oy (Finland) as well as the following subsidiaries: Virta SARL (France), Virta International GmbH (Germany), Virta Nordic AB (Sweden), Virta Ltd Pte (Singapore), and Virta Eastern Europe S.R.L. (Romania). The footprint and handprint data have been put together by the external company UseLess Oy.
