Virta partners with the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) to drive fleet electrification

EV charging pioneer Virta, has joined the industry body for fleet managers as part of its drive to accelerate the UK's electrification journey.

As the UK continues its transition to a more sustainable future, fleet electrification has emerged as a critical step toward reducing emissions and curbing reliance on polluting petrol and diesel vehicles. 

At the forefront of this movement, EV charging pioneer Virta has announced its membership in the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP), an influential industry body representing the corporate fleet sector.

Ross Basnett, Sales Executive at Virta UK and Ireland, says, “The AFP is an incredibly powerful voice in the fleet world, and we are delighted to become a member.”

Virta, which operates in the UK and across 35 countries with more than 500,000 charging points, offers an end-to-end fleet management solution - supporting organisations to both start fleet electrification and optimise fleet performance.

The AFP is a not-for-profit body that connects, supports and educates the corporate fleet industry. AFP membership enables fleet decision-makers to obtain training, advice and guidance regarding key issues impacting the running of fleets. 

Ross Basnett continues, “AFP is committed to elevating standards in the industry and is a force for good in the move away from petrol and diesel. As part of our membership, we will sit on the Decarbonisation committee to help drive those conversations. 

“There are over 1,500 members of the AFP, so we will be able to speak to people across the spectrum of fleet management."

Virta believes that fleet vehicles hold the key to driving faster adoption of electric vehicles, which, in turn, will lead to improvements in charging infrastructure.
