Virta partner Faast Point launches an ultra-fast charging network with a unique 150 kW power guarantee
"Nothing frustrates an EV driver more than the uncertainty of charging time and power. It’s infuriating when a charging station doesn’t provide enough power to charge the car within a reasonable time. We are now solving this issue," says Heikki Hintikka, COO of Faast Point.
Unlike traditional charging stations, Faast Point guarantees a minimum charging power of 150 kW, depending on the vehicle’s battery capacity. This means that many EV models can be charged to 50% in approximately 15 minutes (based on an estimated medium/large 80 kWh battery). The maximum charging power reaches up to 400 kW.
Faast is opening new stations across Finland along highways, around cities and the main capital area. Following the launch on their first charging station in Joroinen on 21st February, additional stations will be established at the Jari-Pekka service station in Hartola, near Helsinki Airport, and in Tapiola, Espoo, during the spring and early summer. The company aims to expand the network to 20–30 stations between 2025 and 2026.
“We’re proud to partner with Faast, who are elevating the high-power charging network customer experience to a new level by leveraging energy solutions and the strongest partners in the industry. From the power guarantee to the brightly illuminated, rain-sheltering canopy and support for all payment methods, the new Faast concept sets the standard for customer convenience—while maintaining highly competitive pricing, enabled by savings and revenues from energy. All Faast stations are ‘connected to the Virta Network’ and accessible without roaming surcharges to all other Virta platform EMPs’ EV drivers, with normal roaming fees to external EMPs’ drivers, and to unregistered drivers with one-time payments. This ensures maximum utilisation of the new stations from day one,” - Henrik Stigzelius, Virta Sales
Faast Point has partnered with industry-leading companies to bring its vision to life. The charging platform is provided by Virta, battery solutions by Cactos, construction by Eltel, and charging equipment by Kempower. These companies are not only top players in Finland but also recognized globally for their cutting-edge technology and innovation in the EV charging and energy sectors.
